Middle School 6-8
The goal of the Middle School Curriculum is to thoroughly prepare students for college and offer them a strong foundation for a lifetime of learning. By working together, parents, students and staff at the Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy can ensure that wise decisions are made concerning programs and course selections as we prepare our students for a smooth transition into High School. Furthermore, it is the school’s objective to make certain that all students have an opportunity to receive a sound, structured, and progressive education which will allow them to become independent learners while they achieve and enjoy the process. The Agassi Prep Middle School staff will continue to:
Promote academic achievement, while producing independent learners;
Promote polite and responsible behavior; and
Provide varied diverse activities and positive programs for students.
The basic requirements for Middle School students include Core Courses, as well as Exploratory and Elective courses. Required Core Courses include the following:
- Math (Blocked for two (2) class periods)
- English & Reading (Blocked for two (2) class periods)
- Science
- Social Studies
- Spanish & Physical Education (Semester Courses)
- Elective & Exploratory Courses include:
- Music, African Drumming & Art for Grades 6-8
- Journalism and Dance Fitness (Grade 8 only)
Campus Beautification Goal
The goal for Agassi Middle School students is to “beautify” the campus. During various weeks, students will assist around campus and will receive community hours during the process. Students will also serve as advocates for the campus by being proud and respectful of their building, helping maintain the cleanliness of the campus and encouraging their peers not to litter.
