Community Projects

Winter Warmness Campaign

Our Parent Advisory Council will kick off our new partnership with the Las Vegas Mission to help the homeless and those less fortunate, by hosting a winter clothing drive on November 4th here at our campus. We are reaching out to our neighboring schools, community centers, churches, businesses, and political representatives, to donate warm clothing (jackets, hats, gloves, scarves, etc.). They will bring their donations to our south parking lot on Saturday-Nov. 4th between the hours of 0800-1400, and the LV Mission will pick-up all donations and deliver to the mission from here.

On Saturday, November 18th, Agassi Prep families and students will help serve Thanksgiving dinner for the homeless at the LV Mission. Following dinner, as individuals/families leave, we will hand out warm clothing to those who need it.

If you would like to be a part of this community outreach project, contact Juli Stanley for more info.

The Rotary Club of Las Vegas West Supports Agassi Prep

Since the 2001-2002 academic year, the Rotary Club of Las Vegas West has provided support to Agassi Prep. One of several Rotary Clubs in the Las Vegas area, Las Vegas West Club decided to "adopt" the Agassi Academy as a community service project soon after it opened its doors for the first time, doing whatever possible to support the children and staff of the school. The club's theme is, "DO IT FOR THE KIDS!"

Home Instruction For Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY)

HIPPY is a free program offered by the Sunrise Children's Foundation to families with young children. HIPPY Sunrise will begin meeting with parents every other Friday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. commencing Dec. 17th at Agassi Prep.

A love of learning begins at home, and parents are the first and most important teachers. HIPPY Sunrise helps parents teach their young children from birth to five years of age, the skills that are necessary for successful start in school. They assist families with curriculum activities, children's books, supplies, and the skills to help parents. HIPPY Sunrise provides this program in group meetings as a fun way to share, support and inform families.

Family Development Foundation (FDF)

The Family Development Foundation addresses the problem of domestic violence and abuse. It is a leader in the area of initiating, monitoring, and evaluating domestic violence programs as part of a coordinated community response to this pressing problem. The project is directed by Mrs. Sherri Sullivan who has over 30 years experience in education and management.

FDF will serve a variety of entities within the Clark County community. The AACPA, along with thirteen other public schools, and three Boys and Girls Clubs are involved in this project. They offer education and training sessions for children and adults. They learn ways to combating domestic violence and abuse through improved Conflict Resolution Skills, Youth Behavior Programs, and many other resources. FDF is located at Agassi Prep and is staffed by a diverse group of professionals who will be working with the school community.
