Curriculum

The core curriculum features English/Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies/History, Physical Education/Health, Foreign Language, and Fine and Performing Arts with a focus on college preparation. Involvement in community affairs and cultural activities are also encouraged as part of the academic curriculum.

Our curriculum has power in its simplicity. Students need to be able to read proficiently before they can master writing, math or science. That is why more time on task is imperative. Instead of a traditional six hour school day, our students attend Agassi Prep eight hours a day with approximately 75% staying an additional one to two hours to participate in extracurricular activities ranging from athletics to tutoring. Our students also attend school 10 days longer than their counterparts in the school district. Due to these extended hours, upon graduation our students will have had an additional four years of schooling. In addition, a summer school program is mandatory for all incoming students and current students who have fallen behind.

The Special Education teaching team assists special education students in an inclusionary model.
