Commitment To Excellence
TEACHER COMMITMENT
As a teacher at AGASSI PREP, I fully commit to the following core values:
- I believe that every student has the ability to learn.
- I believe that every student has the potential go to college upon graduation from AGASSI PREP.
- I will do all I can to prepare my students for college and give them the skills needed to succeed there.
- I understand that as a member of the AGASSI PREP community, it is my responsibility to participate in the success of every student at this school.
- It is imperative for me to be in the classroom, prepared and ready to teach my students prior to the start of the school day.
- In order for my students to learn, I must continue learning.
- It is important to make myself available to students and parents for any concerns they might have.
- I am committed to promoting constructive and valuable feedback to the administration, parents and students to ensure student success.
These are the steps I will take to model the above values:
- I will remain at AGASSI PREP every school day from 7:15 a.m. until 3:45 p.m., or later as needed.
- I may be required to be at AGASSI PREP on some evenings, weekends and other non-school days.
- From the moment my students enter the classroom, until dismissal at the end of the day, I will keep them engaged and interested in learning.
- I will take continuing education classes, as needed.
- I will make sure that every student and parent in my class has my home phone number, should they need to get in touch with me after school hours.
I understand that these commitments are critical to the educational success of the students at AGASSI PREP and in order for me to continue providing this education, I must adhere to them.
PARENT/GUARDIAN COMMITMENT
As the parent/guardian of a student at AGASSI PREP, I fully commit to the following core values:
- I understand my child’s success is dependant upon his/her attendance and participation.
- I understand that my child’s success at AGASSI PREP is also dependant upon my own personal involvement with the school.
- It is important that my child is well nourished and ready to learn when he/she arrives at school.
- I am responsible for the behavior and actions of my child.
- I understand that I play a key role in my child’s success.
- I understand AGASSI PREP values honesty and respect.
- I believe that my child has the potential to go to college upon graduation from AGASSI PREP.
These are the steps I will take to model the above values:
- I will make sure my child is at AGASSI PREP every school day from 7:25 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., or later as needed.
- I will make arrangements for my child to come to AGASSI PREP outside of normal school hours, when required (on appropriate Saturdays, for mandatory tutoring sessions, for summer school).
- I will make sure that if my child misses a day of school, the school is notified promptly and all make-up work is completed.
- Each year, I commit to volunteer at least 12 hours at AGASSI PREP, attend two governing board meetings, and attend mandatory parent/teacher conferences.
- I will always make myself available to my child and the school for any concerns they might have.
- I will check my child’s homework every night and carefully read all papers that the school sends home.
- I will read with my child or ensure that my child reads every night.
- I recognize the importance of the rules set forth in the AGASSI PREP student handbook and will make sure my child follows them.
- I have read and signed the Student Disciplinary Guide.
- I understand my child’s commitment is his/her responsibility but I will support my child in living up to this commitment.
- I will show respect towards all members of the AGASSI PREP community.
I understand that these commitments are critical to my child’s success at AGASSI PREP and in order for my child to continue his/her education at AGASSI PREP, I must adhere to them.
STUDENT COMMITMENT
As a student at AGASSI PREP, I fully commit to the following core values:
- I understand that AGASSI PREP will prepare me for college.
- I have the potential to go to college after graduation.
- I understand that my success is dependant upon my attendance and I will make sure to complete my make-up work if I miss a day.
- I understand that I need to work and think to the best of my ability.
- I believe that good behavior is the key to success.
- I am responsible for my own actions and mistakes.
- Whether I am on the school grounds or outside of it, I am always a representative of AGASSI PREP and will conduct myself in a respectful manner.
- I value honesty and respect.
These are the steps I will take to model the above values:
- I will be at AGASSI PREP every school day from 7:25 a.m. until at least 3:30 p.m.
- I will come to AGASSI PREP outside of normal school hours, when required (on appropriate Saturdays, for mandatory tutoring sessions, for summer school).
- I will complete all my homework every night.
- I will call my teachers if I have a problem with my homework or a problem concerning school.
- I will raise my hand in class if I do not understand something.
- I believe that community service is an important part of character development.
- I will commit to serving the required hours of community service each year under the direction of my teacher.
- I will follow the AGASSI PREP handbook and Student Disciplinary Guide.
- I will be respectful of all members of the AGASSI PREP community.
I understand that these commitments are critical to my success at AGASSI PREP and in order for me to continue my education at AGASSI PREP, I must adhere to them.
